LCARate is the world's first and now only, product certification scheme that uses full life cycle analysis to compare a product to a 'business as usual (BaU) worst case- commonly available' benchmark product. Every product that performs the same function is compared to the same BaU benchmark, so you can literally ask e.g., "what is the most sustainable flooring?" and get a scientifically valid answer even when comparing dissimilar materials like cork, rubber, vinyl, polyoelfins, tiles, carpet etc. Even the cleaning, maintenance and replacement schedule requirements are considered (hint: in flooring these are often the biggest impacts over the whole life cycle). It awards Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum rating outcomes.
