Bared is proud to be the first Australian footwear label to introduce PLIANT™. NFW is the master behind our plant-based vegan upper material, MIRUMⓇ. Sharing the same values when it comes to creating bio-based products, we turned to NFW to source a better material for our outsoles. - Fitted with canvas-lined B.plantfoam™ footbed. - Customised fit with plant-derived Fit Kit included. - 100% organic cotton laces. - LWG-certified vegetable-tanned leather upper. - Rigid heel counter crafted to support your rear foot. Crafted from GRS-certified recycled plastic bottles (rPET). - Leather lining. - Can accommodate an orthotic.

PLIANT™ outsoles by Natural Fibre Welding (NFW) are the world’s first naturally cured, USDA-certified 100% biobased outsoles. PLIANT™ is made with natural rubber from responsibly managed trees. 70% of what is marketed as rubber today is synthetic (or in other words, made from fossil fuels), and even natural rubber is typically cured with petrochemicals. In a technological leap forward, PLIANT™ is naturally cured with NFW’s revolutionary patented plant-based curative. This curative means that PLIANT™ outsoles are both recyclable and naturally circular – PLIANT™ can safely and naturally return to the earth at end-of-life. PLIANT™ outsoles truly stand apart.

The same support you know and love, but kinder to the planet. Our new B.plantfoam™ footbed is made from 72% plant-based materials (USDA Certified Biobased). With a carbon footprint of 3.85 kg CO2e, it reduces CO2 emissions by 70% when compared to traditional petroleum-based footbeds.
