OMF is working towards a sustainable future, as we face new and changing times ahead.

OMF's Project Zero 2023 is about reducing our footprint and minimising our environmental impact. It is our responsibility to ensure that we leave this world a better place than we found it. This world we live in is fragile, and we all need to work together to implement global change. To date, we have implemented initiatives such as working closer and closer towards a paperless business, working with landlords to shift power to renewable resources, as well as ensuring that the packaging on our products is made from recyclable materials. OMF will always strive to find innovative ways to do business that put us ahead of our competitors, as well as reduce our environmental impact.

OMF Sustainability Actions

Partnering with Seaqual

OMF has partnered with Seaqual to design mattress fabric material that uses up-cycled plastic - PET bottles that have been cleaned up from the ocean. Seaqual pays fishermen to collect garbage and bring it ashore. The waste then gets sorted and up-cycled into products for consumer use, including our very own Ocean Choice 7 mattress which is our first mattress using this up-cycled material in the top paneling of the mattress.

Working towards paperless business

We are reviewing our processes and procedures and, where possible, cutting out printing paperwork completely. During COVID we moved to a completely remote business and all of our files had to be shared digitally. There was no option of printing and collaborating with physical documentation. This habit has continued since coming back to the workplace.

FSC certified timber

We request all our furniture and timber product partners only use FSC certified timber in our products. The Forest Stewardship Council is is an independent international organisation. In order to supply FSC® certified wood, primary product suppliers have to prove our forests are managed in an environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable manner.
