I Stand For Sustainability Commitments
2015
The inception of: I Stand For.
The concept for 'I Stand For’ was informed by my concerns for the social and environmental issues associated with 'fast fashion' garment industry where unsafe and unethical work conditions are so common. I made a commitment to only source apparel that is certified as ethically made, organic and sustainably produced. This committment underpins the entire I Stand For business model. Next, sourcing graphics from Australian artists allowed me to engage with incredibly talented people who created the artwork unique to I Stand For. People can literally 'wearing their values’ when they wear an I Stand For t-shirt or tote bag.

Engaging with inspiring artists to develop our graphics
In 2016, I was fortunate to meet with Melbourne based artist Sara Catena who created the first artwork for I Stand For. This piece called 'Be a Voice of Compassion' is representative of Australia in design highlighting the need for compassion towards others, particularly in the context of harsh and inhumane refugee policies. Following this, I worked with a growing number of amazing artists who created individual pieces to be digitally replicated on the I Stand For apparel.

Sourcing ethical made apparel
After a broad search I found the international award winning garment supplier Continental Clothing who offer the Earth Positive® collection. All Earth Positive® garments are made with 100% organic cotton and are Carbon Neutral accredited. Continental workplaces are audited annually by Fair Wear to ensure compliance with the FWF Code of Labour Practices in accordance with the International Labour Organisation’s conventions.
