Aldi Sustainability Actions

Renewable Energy

In August 2020, ALDI became the first Australian supermarket to commit to 100% renewable electricity by the end of 2021. In June, 2021, we achieved this goal 6 months ahead of schedule.

Sustainable Packaging

At ALDI, we are committed to continuously improving the design and use of packaging. Our goal is that 100% of our packaging will be designed to be reusable, recyclable or compostable by 2025.

Zero Waste to Landfill

Australia wastes more than 7.3 million tonnes of food every year. ALDI has therefore committed to sending zero waste to landfill by 2025. There are several measures in place to ensure that we are working towards meeting our goal.
