We’re proud to introduce our partnership with world-renowned environmentalist Dr Jane Goodall and the Jane Goodall Institute.
Here at Boody, we believe sustainability is a journey, not a destination. It isn’t easy but it is important. By making better choices, we can make our world just a little bit better; and it’s as easy as changing your underwear.
Who is Jane?
In 1960, Jane Goodall arrived at the Gombe Stream Reserve (previously known as Tanganyika) in East Africa to fulfil a childhood dream of hers. It was unheard of for a woman to venture into the African wilderness.
Over the years, Jane’s contribution to the field of primatology was immensely successful- allowing us to learn so much more about chimpanzees’ emotions and behaviours.
“While it may not seem like much at the checkout, your decision to choose sustainable and ethically made products can help.”
Our partnership with Dr Jane Goodall has been timely, with fast fashion at the forefront and the devastating impacts of textile waste. She stresses the importance of choosing sustainable options where possible. Small choices can make big changes.
By changing your underwear to a sustainable resource such as Bamboo, it can make a difference. At 88 years old, Dr Jane Goodall worries she won’t be on this planet for much longer, which is why she emphasises that everyone starts contributing now.
Hope is about action. It is crucial to the future of this planet.
“We’ve got to roll up our sleeves and fight our way through all the obstacles…things like climate change, loss of biodiversity, pandemics, mistreatment of the environment…”
By taking action, one person can simply inspire others.
Why Jane?
Our passion for the environment has inspired us to create a brand championing a better future, fit for all.
The Jane Goodall Institute Australia (JGIA) aims to make a difference for all living things through conservation, research and education. That’s why we’re proud to be supporting the institute in the launch of our Official Underwear of the Entire Planet campaign. JGI works across 35 countries around the world, working to support Dr Goodall’s vision and legacy. Our shared goals with Dr Jane Goodall led us to choose her as the face of our campaign and we are so proud.
Our sustainability focus
Just like swapping plastic bottles for reusable bottles and plastic bags to fabric totes, choosing sustainably-made underwear is a small switch that can make a huge community impact.
However, we need to do more than talk about sustainability. We need to take action now. At Boody, sustainability is very important to us. That’s why we’re proudly B Corp certified and we give 1% of our sales back to the planet. Read more on our Sustainable Choice profile.
Why our underwear is better
Our underwear is silky soft, made from organically-grown bamboo. Light and gentle on your skin. It is also thermoregulating and breathable so you feel warm on winter days and cool when it’s hot.
Did you know, that over time, our underwear gets even softer with use. Bamboo fibre gets softer as it’s washed. Bamboo fibres line up, rather than move out of position.
